Here are some tips we’ve learned about using video game consoles in Mediatech
- Make sure you take a new console out of the box (set up passwords, network settings, name, etc.)
- Remember these are Internet devices with browsers, so you always need to keep an eye on the monitor.
- Decrease theft with labels, engraving, wired controllers, increasing feelings of ownership, secure cabinets and locks, daily (hourly) inventories, web cams and sign in sheets.
- Keep a lot of AA batteries on hand for your Wii controllers. A battery testers is also handy.
- Make sure you have a lot of room around your Wii.
- Teach kids how to synch wireless controllers. When someone has a problem, send the child over to the rescue.
- Have a noise control plan (e.g., Carol had found that you can label volume controls with dots of white paint, along with the maximum number of volume bars (e.g., 15)
- Leave room (and chairs) for multiple players at the same console.
